Becoming a Studio ARTIST

  • You can start your application by sending us an email with your name and contact number to enquiries.sa@studioartes.org.au. We will then get in touch with you and discuss the next steps, including filling out our online application form. We can’t wait to hear from you!

  • A usual day at Studio ARTES starts at 8.30 am. When you arrive, there is time to put your bag away, say hello to your friends, and make a tea or coffee.

At 9.00 am, it is time to head into your morning session. You are able to choose which session you would like to sign up for. Once you have chosen, you attend the same session at that time each week.

At 11.30 am until 12.30 pm we have a break for lunch! This is a great time to socialise with your friends, or find a quiet spot for some down time. After lunch, we begin our afternoon session. At 3.00 pm, it is usually time to head home after a day of creativity.

For those who want to keep the good times rolling, or even come to studio ARTES after a day at work, we also run programs after hours, from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm.

  • There are many sessions to choose from throughout the week. This includes visual art, photography, weaving and textiles, dance, filming, photography, music, puppetry, sport, cooking and so much more! We also offer community access and individual support.

  • You can choose what works best – you don’t need to come in for a whole day if that doesn’t fit in with your schedule or what you want to do. You might come in at lunch time to enjoy the afternoon session, or only stay for the morning session.

  • Studio ARTES is a service for adults with a disability over the age of 18 years. However, during some school holidays we are able to offer programs for school leavers (17 years). Availability varies. Please contact us for more information!

  • Our programs offer group support at a 1:3 ratio, with additional options for 1:1 or 1:2 support. We take an individual approach to support, and will work with you and your team to determine what will be best for you.

  • Yes! We encourage everyone to tour their site of choice as part of the application process, to get a feel of what the Studio is like and if it will work for you.

  • Rates for attending Studio ARTES depend on what you choose to do at Studio ARTES, support needs, what type of support we are providing, and the time and days of support. This will be discussed and agreed with you before starting at Studio ARTES and supported by a Service Agreement and schedule of supports.

Studio ARTES is an NDIS registered organisation. If you have an NDIS plan, you can agree to use your funds in the plan to pay for Studio ARTES hourly rate. You can find out more about pricing by reading about our Policies and Payments.

The application process takes a minimum of 2 weeks to be completed. This allows us to meet with you in person and get to know you, make sure we are the right fit for you, organise tailored support, and make sure that you feel happy to join us at Studio ARTES.

Do you have some unanswered questions? Not a problem! Please contact us, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
