Wendy Escott

Founder and Board Member:

Wendy Escott initially trained as a primary school teacher moving across to special education in 1982. During 20 years of teaching art at Clarke Road Special School in Hornsby, Wendy coordinated many art exhibitions and workshops.

In 1996 Wendy founded the Boonah Creative Arts Centre through the Mercy Family Centre. In 2000 with cofounder Sue Byatt, she founded Studio ARTES Northside Inc.

In 2001 Wendy was awarded an OAM for her work with both adults and children with disabilities. She also received a Centennial Medal. Wendy is an active member of the Rotary Club of Waitara.
